After a successful pre-season tour of the United States, Liverpool are set to play their first match of the summer at Anfield, where they will face Sevilla on Sunday afternoon.
With the start of the new Premier League season fast approaching, the Reds are gearing up for an away trip to newly-promoted Ipswich Town on August 17.
Although Liverpool have yet to make any moves in the transfer window, which may soon change, Arne Slot has overseen a promising pre-season, with Liverpool winning all three of their matches in the U.S.
The tour culminated in victories over domestic rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.
Now, a different challenge awaits them in the form of Sevilla, a side also under new management.
Garcia Pimienta, who impressed with Las Palmas, took over the reins at Sevilla after a difficult end to the season, which led to his departure from his previous club.
Pimienta becomes the fifth manager to take charge of Sevilla since Julen Lopetegui’s departure in October 2022.
Sevilla are in desperate need of stability and will be looking to improve on their 14th-place finish in La Liga last season.
Liverpool: Alisson, Van Dijk, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Salah, Jota, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah.
Subs: Pitaluga, Jaros, Gomez, Bajcetic, Nallo, Morton, Blair, Stephenson, Nyoni.
