Confirmed Liverpool starting line-up v Crystal Palace

Liverpool have the opportunity to increase their lead at the top of the Premier League table as they travel to face a winless Crystal Palace.

The in-form Reds have made an impressive start under Jurgen Klopp’s successor, Arne Slot, winning five of their first six matches.

This strong performance positions them ahead of title rivals Manchester City and Arsenal.

They’ve also opened the new-look Champions League with back-to-back victories and advanced to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

A win in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off in South London could see Liverpool go four points clear of both City and Arsenal – at least temporarily – since neither of their rivals will be in action until later in the day.

Liverpool enter the match as firm favorites against a Crystal Palace side that remains without a win this season.

Currently sitting in the relegation zone, Palace have drawn three and lost three of their opening matches, significantly dampening the enthusiasm for Oliver Glasner’s first full season in charge.

Speaking ahead of the game, Slot said: “You always look at the first one and that’s Crystal Palace.

“I think they already showed how tough of an opponent they are against the big teams, like [Manchester] United and Chelsea. In both situations they got a result.

“That’s the first game and that’s why it’s the most important one, and a difficult one for us: 12.30 kick-off after playing on Wednesday evening late in the Champions League, facing again a team that has a whole week to prepare.

“But that is part of working at a top club, that we face those teams and we have to be ready for those teams.

“And that’s what we are tomorrow.

“I don’t look at this moment about one point, three points, four points; it’s after the weekend then it’s interesting to look at the league table and not after the game we’ve played.”

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Jones, Mac Allister; Salah, Jota, Gakpo.

Subs: Jaros, Gomez, Endo, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Robertson, Quansah, Bradley.

Caoimhin Kelleher is absent from the matchday squad due to illness.
