Harvey Blair has completed a permanent transfer to Portsmouth from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The forward begins a new chapter in his career with the newly promoted Championship club, having finalised the move on Friday.
The 20-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the club on the south coast, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months.
The Championship club has paid an initial £300,000 for the 20-year-old, with the total deal potentially rising to £600,000.
Liverpool have also secured a 20 percent sell-on clause in the agreement.
Blair’s journey with Liverpool began at the U12 level, and he advanced through the youth ranks to make his senior debut in October 2021, coming on as a substitute in a Carabao Cup match against Preston North End.
After struggling with injuries over the past two seasons, he featured regularly in pre-season friendlies for Arne Slot’s side this summer.
Harvey Blair appeared in matches against Preston, Real Betis, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Las Palmas.
Blues boss John Mousinho said: “Harvey’s a fantastic young player, who has shown plenty of potential after coming through Liverpool’s academy.
“He’s been heavily involved with the first team during pre-season and shown a huge amount of both talent and promise.
“I feel like he’s the type of player we’ll all be excited to see at Fratton Park and as well being a prospect for the future, we believe he can affect the team now.”
Pompey are back in the Championship for the first time since the 2011/12 season, having secured automatic promotion last year.
They’ve started the new campaign with two draws from their opening matches.
The club has long been interested in Blair, and manager John Mousinho, known for valuing young talent and providing opportunities, is likely to have been an appealing factor for the forward.
With a number of injuries affecting their attacking options, Blair might have the chance to make an immediate impact at Fratton Park.
Blair joins Bobby Clark (Salzburg, £10m), Fabio Carvalho (Brentford, £27.5m), and Sepp van den Berg (Brentford, £25m) as players who have left on permanent transfers this summer.
