Liverpool striker Lewis Koumas has committed his future to the Reds by signing a new long-term contract and securing a season-long loan move to Stoke City.
The 18-year-old, who made his senior debut for Liverpool last season, will now spend the entirety of the 2024-25 campaign with the Championship side.
Koumas joined Liverpool from Tranmere Rovers as an Under-11 player and had a standout 2023-24 season.
He was on the bench when Liverpool lifted the Carabao Cup at Wembley in February and made his professional debut just three days later, scoring in a 3-0 victory over Southampton in the Emirates FA Cup fifth-round tie at Anfield.
During pre-season, Koumas was part of head coach Arne Slot’s squad, featuring in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Preston North End in July and participating in the tour of the USA, where he contributed to the victory over Real Betis in Pittsburgh.
Stoke City kicks off their Championship campaign today with a home game against Coventry City.
Koumas is anticipated to be available to make his debut for the Potters against Carlisle United on Tuesday evening.
Sporting Director Jonathan Walters said: “In Lewis, we are signing a player of huge potential and I’m excited to see what the 24/25 season has in store for him in a Stoke City shirt.
“We are thankful to Liverpool for entrusting us with one of their brightest prospects ahead of other interested clubs.
“I know he’ll be warmly welcomed into the Stoke City family and will get all the support he needs – from staff, teammates and fans alike – to be successful with the Club.”
