Manchester City could miss the services of Phil Foden for the trip to West Ham due to illness, while Rodri and Mateo Kovacic might be available for selection.
Foden was sidelined for City’s match against Ipswich on Saturday due to illness.
In his pre-West Ham press conference, Pep Guardiola confirmed that the England midfielder still isn’t feeling well.
Despite coming on at half-time in the season’s opening Premier League match, Foden may miss his second consecutive game if he doesn’t recover in time for Saturday’s fixture.
“Rodri is much better. (Mateo) Kovacic as well. Phil (Foden) still doesn’t feel good,” Guardiola reported at his pre-match press conference.
“The rest are OK.
Rodri has been gradually working his way back into contention after a period of rest following Spain’s victory in the European Championship.
He has trained with the squad this week for the first time since his return.
Mateo Kovacic, who picked up an injury against Ipswich, has also rejoined training.
Both players will hope to be available for the match against West Ham.
Guardiola has no other injury concerns, and Jack Grealish is fully fit again after coming off the bench against Ipswich.
On the West Ham game, he added: “New managers at new places always needs time – he is experienced.
“At Real Madrid, the national team at Spain, Sevilla is so demanding.
“He has lots of experience and is an unbelievable person.
“West Ham already had a really good squad and this summer they brought in new top players.
“Especially upfront they have incredible weapons – they are a really strong team.”
Manchester City currently lead the table after two games, following a 2-0 victory over Chelsea and a 4-1 win against Ipswich.
The game against West Ham will be City’s final Premier League match before the September international break, with midweek fixtures resuming as soon as domestic football returns.
