Manchester United will face a thrilling reunion with José Mourinho after discovering their opponents for the first phase of this season’s Europa League, alongside Tottenham Hotspur.
UEFA has revamped this season’s competition by discarding the traditional group phase.
Instead, teams will now compete in a league phase, playing eight different opponents – four at home and four away – before progressing to the knockout rounds.
In addition to a match against Mourinho’s new team, Fenerbahçe, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will also face Rangers.
The Scottish side will visit Old Trafford sometime between September and December, while Tottenham will travel to Glasgow during the same period.
Fixture dates will be confirmed on Saturday.
Mourinho has not faced United since his stint as Tottenham manager in April 2021.
The former Red Devils and Spurs boss took charge of Fenerbahçe this summer but was unable to lead them into the Champions League.

Tottenham will play – in no confirmed order: Roma (H), Rangers (A), AZ Alkmaar (H), Ferencvaros (A), Qarabag (H), Galatasaray (A), Elfsborg (H), Hoffenheim (A)
