Three Premier League clubs interested in Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah

Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah is among the players who could be leaving Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in acquiring his services, with Newcastle United and Crystal Palace also monitoring the situation.

Chalobah, who joined Chelsea’s youth ranks at the age of eight, made his first-team debut in 2021 and appeared poised for a long career with the club.

However, the Todd Boehly era has seen a significant turnover of players, and Chalobah might be next.

Aston Villa are considering a move for him as the transfer window nears its close.

According to a report from The Athletic, Chelsea is open to letting several players leave this summer, including Trevoh Chalobah.

Villa and Crystal Palace have expressed interest, and a deal could materialise before the transfer window shuts.

Palace could still lose Marc Guehi, who has been linked with Newcastle throughout the month.

If Newcastle cannot finalise a deal for the England international, they might turn their attention to Chalobah, who has previously been on their radar.

Villa are also considering adding another centre-back under Unai Emery, especially with Diego Carlos being linked to Fulham, which could open a spot for Chalobah.

Chalobah would also contribute to Villa’s homegrown quota ahead of their European squad registration.

His experience in the Premier League and Champions League, with 67 appearances for Chelsea in both competitions over the past three years, would be valuable.

Although Villa is not in urgent need of a centre-back, Chalobah would be a strong addition if Carlos leaves.

Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres are Villa’s primary centre-back choices, with Tyrone Mings expected to return after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury sustained in the opening game of last season.

Adding Chalobah would provide depth and flexibility, given his ability to play in a back four or back three and his experience in defensive midfield.

As Villa aim to enhance their squad, with recent links to Giovani Lo Celso and Pedro Gonçalves for added creativity, Chalobah would offer both defensive solidity and additional homegrown quota flexibility for their Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
