Trevoh Chalobah banned from Chelsea’s first-team facilities as Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku train with youngsters

Trevoh Chalobah has been restricted from using Chelsea’s first-team facilities as the Blues work on his departure.

According to Telegraph Sport, Chalobah has been relegated to training with the development squad and is not permitted in the first-team areas at the club’s Cobham training base.

As a result, Chalobah, who has been with Chelsea since the age of eight, now spends his time in the academy building until he finalizes a move away from the club.

He has not been seen in the first-team dressing room or at lunch since Chelsea returned from their pre-season tour of the United States, which he missed.

Another academy graduate, Armando Broja, along with Romelu Lukaku, is training with Chelsea’s youngsters.

Chalobah’s situation mirrors that of Conor Gallagher, who faced a similar situation before moving to Atlético Madrid.

Chelsea’s strategy under new head coach Enzo Maresca is to ensure that players not in the first-team plans focus on their futures rather than remaining with the club under false pretenses.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are among the clubs interested in Chalobah, who made 17 appearances for Chelsea last season and was a regular under former head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Chalobah previously turned down a move to Nottingham Forest last summer but managed to return to the squad after recovering from injury.

Chalobah is now accepting that his time at Chelsea is nearing its end and is reportedly complying with the club’s instructions, despite the surprising nature of the decision for some of his teammates.

He signed a long-term contract in November 2022, which still has four years remaining, and Chelsea value him at around £25 million.

In contrast, Broja was included in the U.S. tour but is also now training with the development squad as he seeks a move.

Broja has attracted interest from Premier League clubs and overseas, including in Spain, despite a challenging loan spell at Fulham last season.

Lukaku, who has attracted interest from Napoli under head coach Antonio Conte, has yet to receive a bid.

Chelsea have set a £37.8 million buy-out clause for the Belgian striker.

Chelsea are also finalizing the signing of winger Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers and the arrival of striker Samu Omorodion from Atlético Madrid.
