Kim Min-Jae has dismissed speculation about leaving Bayern Munich this summer, expressing his commitment to a successful tenure at the Allianz Arena.

The 27-year-old defender, who was previously linked with Manchester United, faced a challenging debut season at Bayern Munich following his transfer from Serie A champions Napoli last summer.

Manchester United have also shown interest in Min-Jae’s teammate Matthijs de Ligt.

Despite these rumours, Min-Jae has emphasized his focus on the upcoming season with Bayern Munich and has no intention of departing the club so soon after his arrival.

“I haven’t thought for a second about leaving this great club,” said the defender ahead of a friendly against Tottenham Hotspur in South Korea on Saturday.

“My goal is to help the team as much as possible, work hard, and improve.”

With four years remaining on his current contract, Min-Jae could see a revised role under new manager Vincent Kompany, especially as De Ligt’s future at the club remains uncertain.

On Friday, The Athletic reported that Manchester United had a double bid for De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui rejected by Bayern Munich.

The report indicates that United “want to strengthen their squad by acquiring both defenders” but were informed that a higher fee would be necessary.

Before the summer transfer window opened, Bayern informed Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui that they were not part of the club’s future plans and should seek transfers.

The club assured them that they would facilitate the process.

However, when Manchester United made inquiries about the players, they encountered resistance.

This led the representatives of De Ligt and Mazraoui to question Bayern about whether the club’s stance on the centre-back and full-back had changed.

Bayern reiterated their position that both players were still not part of their plans.

If this situation continues, it could become financially burdensome for Bayern due to the substantial salaries of both players.

Personal terms for De Ligt and Mazraoui are already agreed upon, involving five-year contracts with an option to extend for an additional 12 months.

Earlier in the transfer window, Manchester United had two bids for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite turned down, with the Toffees demanding £70 million for the 22-year-old.

While a deal is still possible, United have since shifted their focus to other targets.
