Liverpool will return to Merseyside directly after their match against Manchester United on Saturday, facing significant decisions regarding the futures of several fringe players.
The club’s new transfer chief, Richard Hughes, has been fielding numerous inquiries about young players either returning from loans or stepping up from the academy.
Among the key names in focus is Bobby Clark, a talented midfielder who made notable strides last season, including a standout performance in the Carabao Cup final.
Red Bull Salzburg are showing strong interest in Clark, alongside several other clubs.
Championship sides Norwich and Leeds have also expressed interest in signing the 19-year-old, who recently returned to training with the Under-21s after recovering from a back injury.
The Reds have turned down a bid of £6m from Salzburg for the highly-rated midfielder, according to the Liverpool Echo.
New head coach Arne Slot wants to evaluate Clark before making any decisions regarding his future.
Clark’s development last season was significantly influenced by Pep Lijnders and Vitor Matos, who are now at Salzburg.
The Athletic reports that Liverpool want at least £12million to consider sanctioning a permanent move for Clark.
Another midfielder attracting widespread interest is Tyler Morton.
The 21-year-old has impressed during Liverpool’s tour of the United States and has not actively sought a move, praising Slot’s ‘Total Football’ style.
Despite a positive loan spell at Hull City last year, Morton faces an uncertain future at Anfield.
Serie A side Atalanta, who eliminated Liverpool from last season’s Europa League, and several Premier League clubs are keen on him.
Morton, with senior football experience and caps for England Under-21s, would command a significant fee.
Additionally, James McConnell and Kaide Gordon are drawing interest for loan moves from clubs outside the Premier League, while Ben Doak is being targeted by Leicester and Southampton for a temporary move.
Liverpool also face decisions regarding Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho, who were key starters in recent victories over Real Betis and Arsenal.
Both players have attracted substantial interest, and Liverpool recently rejected a £10 million bid from PSV Eindhoven for Van den Berg.
