Tottenham are reportedly confident about securing Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke before the start of the season.

According to Daily Mail, Spurs are eager to attract the striker to London as Ange Postecoglou seeks to strengthen his attacking options for the 2024-25 campaign.

Although the 27-year-old Solanke comes with a substantial release clause of £65 million, he is said to be interested in the move.

Tottenham is currently reorganizing their forward line, with Richarlison – who struggled with injuries last season – likely to leave.

Several Saudi Arabian clubs are reportedly interested in the 26-year-old Brazilian.

Tottenham aims to complete efficient business in the final week before their opening match against newly promoted Leicester.

The Times reports that Spurs believe selling Richarlison could help fund their pursuit of Solanke, which might explain why the deal hasn’t been finalized before pre-season.

Solanke scored 21 goals in all competitions for Bournemouth last season, surpassing both Son Heung-min’s tally of 17 and Richarlison’s 11.

Despite his impressive performance, Solanke was overlooked by Gareth Southgate for England’s squad in this summer’s European Championship.

If Tottenham successfully acquires Solanke, it could benefit Liverpool, who have a 20 percent sell-on clause from when Solanke left Anfield for Bournemouth in 2019.

This could see Liverpool earn up to £9 million if Solanke’s release clause is triggered.

In addition to Solanke, Tottenham are believed to have considered Ivan Toney, who has been expected to leave Brentford this summer, as well as Jonathan David of Lille, RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda, Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, and Gift Orban, who recently moved from Gent to Ligue 1 side Lyon.

So far, Spurs’ transfer activity has been relatively quiet, with the £35 million signing of Archie Gray from Leeds being their only major acquisition.
