Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has verbally agreed to transfer to West Ham United in the summer transfer window, according to Ben Jacobs.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is being strongly linked with a move to West Ham this summer, with the Hammers eager to bolster their right-back position.

Initially, West Ham had targeted Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui, but the Moroccan has expressed his desire to join Manchester United instead.

There were concerns that West Ham might shift their focus to Arnau Martinez if the Wan-Bissaka deal continued to stall.

However, it seems a significant step has been taken towards finalizing the Englishman’s departure from Manchester United.

The Hammers are reportedly closing in on completing the signing of the former Crystal Palace right-back.

Both clubs are in discussions and aim to finalize the deal soon.

Crucially, it appears personal terms have been agreed, which had been a stumbling block due to Wan-Bissaka’s financial entitlements from United.

A medical is expected within the next three days, and once the deal is completed, Manchester United could proceed with their own signing.

With just three weeks remaining in the summer transfer window, United need to act quickly.

Mazraoui has agreed to terms with Old Trafford, so his transfer could advance rapidly if Wan-Bissaka’s move to West Ham goes through.

Wan-Bissaka, who joined United for £50 million under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019, may now be sold for significantly less.

His departure could pave the way for Mazraoui’s arrival, with Diogo Dalot currently established as the first-choice right-back.

Mazraoui is expected to provide backup, and he could also serve as a left-back, given Luke Shaw’s well-documented injury issues.

Wan-Bissaka, who was briefly a regular under Erik ten Hag towards the end of his debut season, never fully won over the current manager.

Depending on the fee United secures for Wan-Bissaka and the cost of Mazraoui, this could be a shrewd piece of business for Manchester United.
