Arne Slot plans a mixed lineups for Sunday’s double header

Liverpool return to Anfield for the first time under Arne Slot as preseason gradually draws to a close. The Dutchman has decided on lineups for Sunday.

The Reds face a double-header against Spanish sides Sevilla and Las Palmas at Anfield on Sunday.

The 12:30 kick off against the La Liga side will have spectators in attendance. Liverpool fans in the UK would have the opportunity to see the Arne Slot led team for the first time on home turf.

Later at 5pm UK time, Liverpool face Las Palmas in a behind-closed-door at the same venue in a game Slot wants to use to further assess some of the late returnees.

Lines ups for the 12:30 fixture was released at 11:30am and supporters took to social media to ask questions of whereabouts of several of the stand out performers during the preseason tour of the US.

However, according to Lewis Steele of the Daily Mail, Arne Slot wanted to do a mixed line up for both games. This means that supporters in attendance will see captain Virgil Van Dijk together with vice captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, Allison Becker and Luis Diaz all get their first game under the Dutchman.

The likes of Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Andy Robertson, Ibrahma Konatè together with Harvey Elliot, Curtis Jones, Endo, Sepp Van Den Berg, Kelleher and Conor Bradley could feature in the tea time kick off.

Liverpool begin their campaign away at Ipswich Town next Saturday, and today’s games could give Slot and his staff an idea of where they are with their preparations and possible lineups .
