Arsenal have reached an agreement with FC Porto for the transfer of midfielder Fabio Vieira on loan, according to the Daily Mail.
Vieira joined Arsenal from Porto in 2022 for £30 million but has struggled to make a significant impact.
Porto are looking to reintegrate him into their squad as a replacement for Francisco Conceição, who is a potential target for Juventus.
The 24-year-old will not be included in Arsenal’s squad for their upcoming match against Aston Villa as he finalizes his return to Porto.
With the imminent arrival of Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad and the continued development of 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri, Vieira is no longer a central part of Arsenal’s plans.
Vieira has made 49 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing nine assists.
The Gunners had an initial £21.5 million offer for Merino turned down.
In addition to Vieira’s departure, Arsenal are also preparing to sanction another exit, with Eddie Nketiah set to join Nottingham Forest for £30 million.
Nketiah, who joined Arsenal as an academy player, has scored 38 goals in 168 appearances for the Gunners.
