Liverpool left-back Owen Beck is poised to complete his loan move to Blackburn Rovers today, according to The Athletic.
The 22-year-old academy graduate will join John Eustace’s squad and compete with Harry Pickering for a starting position.
Beck, who has made three senior appearances for Liverpool, drew interest from several Championship clubs following a standout loan spell at Dundee during the 2023-24 season.
Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers have a strong relationship, with the Reds having previously loaned Harvey Elliott, Tyler Morton, Leighton Clarkson, and Billy Koumetio to the Lancashire club in recent years.
Recent weeks have been bustling with transfer activity at Ewood Park.
Blackburn Rovers have parted ways with last season’s Championship top goalscorer Sammie Szmodics, who has moved to Ipswich Town for an initial £9 million.
Additionally, Sam Gallagher has joined second-tier rivals Stoke City.
However, manager John Eustace has bolstered the squad with new signings, including Andreas Weimann, Danny Batth, Yuki Ohashi, and Makhtar Gueye.
Further additions are anticipated before the close of the summer transfer window.
Eustace has expressed interest in Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo, but negotiations may prove challenging following Philippe Clement’s indication that the Wales international is likely to remain at Ibrox.
According to The Sun, Blackburn are now considering a surprise move for Rangers outcast and former Norwich City playmaker Todd Cantwell, who was previously linked with Cardiff City earlier in the window.
Owen Beck, who had a loan spell with Bolton Wanderers in the 2022/23 season and made 28 appearances for Tony Docherty’s side last season, is also on the radar.
Blackburn have started the season impressively, winning two and drawing one of their opening three matches.
Their early fixtures included matches against newly-promoted Derby County and Oxford United, and they have earned praise for their performances, particularly their opening-day win against the Rams.
A hard-fought draw away to Norwich City was also a commendable result, and they dominated Stockport County with a 6-1 victory in the first round of the Carabao Cup at Edgeley Park.
Tonight, Blackburn will host Blackpool in the second round of the cup before facing a high-stakes Lancashire Derby at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.
