Barcelona are interested in securing a loan move for Liverpool’s young midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Romano posted on X: “Barcelona submit straight loan proposal to Liverpool for talented midfielder Stefan Bajcetic!
“More exclusive details: loan bid worth €4m fee, NO buy clause.
“After loan bid from RB Salzburg on Tuesday, now Barça try to make it happen after Bernal injury.”
Liverpool are poised to allow Bajcetic to depart on a temporary basis, as the 19-year-old has struggled for minutes during pre-season under new head coach Arne Slot.
Several European clubs have expressed interest in securing him on loan, including his former team, Celta Vigo.
Red Bull Salzburg currently leads the race for his signature, with negotiations ongoing, but Barcelona have also shown keen interest following an injury to Marc Bernal.
Bajcetic made his senior debut for Liverpool in August 2022 and became a regular starter the following year.
However, a pelvic injury in March 2023 sidelined him for much of the next 18 months.
Since then, his only senior appearance was a 25-minute cameo in Liverpool’s Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur in May.
During pre-season, Bajcetic played 132 minutes across five matches but did not make the squad for the opening league games against Ipswich Town and Brentford.
Additionally, he has not featured in any of the under-21s games this season, suggesting a move away from Anfield is imminent.
