Liverpool are nearing a deal for Juventus forward Federico Chiesa as negotiations advance between the two clubs ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
The Italy international is preparing to travel to Merseyside to complete a medical if the agreement is finalized.
Chiesa, who is in the final year of his contract with the Serie A side, is the subject of a deal worth close to £11 million between Liverpool and Juventus.
The Italian forward has not featured for Juventus so far this season.
Currently earning around £80,000 per week at Juventus, Chiesa’s personal terms are unlikely to be an issue for Liverpool as they approach their second signing of the summer, following the £29 million acquisition of goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.
Chiesa missed much of 2022 due to cruciate ligament damage but made 37 appearances in all competitions for Juventus last season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists.
He also played four times for Italy at the European Championships earlier this summer.
Speaking to Italian reporters at the airport, Chiesa said: “I’m very happy, I can’t wait to become new Liverpool player.
“Me and my family, we’re so happy really”.
“Let me say thanks to Juventus and the fans, they have been always special with me”.
