Al-Ittihad have made an offer of around €35 million (£29.4 million) for Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard.
The Saudi Pro League transfer window remains open until October 6, allowing Premier League players to move to the Middle East despite the closure of the transfer window in England.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Al-Ittihad have put forward a proposal for the Belgium international.
He posted on X: “Saudi side Al Ittihad submit proposal in the region of €35m for Leandro Trossard.
“Decision up to Arsenal as he’s always been an important player for Arteta.
“Official proposal arrives ahead of Saudi Pro League deadline, as Al Ittihad keep looking for new winger.”
Trossard is a valued member of Mikel Arteta’s squad but has faced challenges in securing a regular starting position.
The 29-year-old has started only one of Arsenal’s first three league games of the 2024/25 season, with competition for places intensifying following the loan signing of Raheem Sterling from Chelsea on deadline day.
Despite this, Arsenal are unlikely to part with Trossard, who has established himself as a game-changer for the Gunners off the bench.
He scored a vital opener in the 2-0 win against Aston Villa earlier this month and netted 12 league goals from just 18 starts last season.
Al-Ittihad are eager to bolster their squad with a winger as they look to enhance a team that already features Karim Benzema, Fabinho, and N’Golo Kante.
With both Sterling and Gabriel Martinelli able to play on the left wing, and Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus leading the attack, Arsenal might want to consider cashing in on Leandro Trossard while the opportunity exists.
Although selling Trossard would still leave the squad somewhat short, the situation would be less severe compared to the period before Sterling’s arrival.
If the Gunners choose to sell, they might aim to negotiate a higher price.
However, with Trossard having scored 19 goals since his arrival in 2023, he could prove too valuable to let go.
