Manchester United fans furiously called for Erik ten Hag to be sacked after Tottenham loss
Man Utd sink to new low as Spurs impress
Manchester United fans angrily called for Erik ten Hag’s dismissal midway through their 3-0 defeat to Tottenham, following a disastrous start that saw them concede within the first three minutes and lose Bruno Fernandes to a red card.
The Red Devils delivered a dismal first-half performance against Ange Postecoglou’s side, with Brennan Johnson slotting home from a Mickey van de Ven cross to give Spurs an early lead.
Things went from bad to worse for Manchester United when Fernandes was sent off for kicking out at James Maddison.
Tottenham capitalised on their momentum, with Dejan Kulusevski scoring early in the second half, deepening United’s troubles.
Frustrated away fans were heard chanting “You’re getting sacked in the morning,” aimed at Ten Hag.
Dominic Solanke added a third later in the half, further humiliating United.
By halftime, some supporters had already made their feelings clear, calling for Ten Hag’s dismissal after the team’s dreadful performance.
One fan wrote: “We’re always getting bullied on the pitch. We need a dark arts coach.
“We need to start playing dirty too. Ten Hag OUT!”
Another fuming supporter said: “Gets the players he wants. No game plan.
“Makes easy games look so difficult. Good players look trash under him.
“Just press talks and blacklisting players. Get Erik Ten Hag out of Manchester United.”
“Ill disciplined, running around like headless chickens,” said another fan.
“They don’t know where they are meant to be or their jobs, I’m afraid it’s time to go.”
One fan also said: “When do we say enough is enough! @ManUtd?
“Because if you still believe this man can turn things around, the question is when and how?”
Gary Neville delivered a scathing assessment of Manchester United’s first-half performance, particularly criticizing Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes, as he didn’t hold back in his analysis.
“It just sums up Manchester United in this first half, to be fair they’ve been an absolute disgrace,” he told Sky Sports.
“It’s one of the worst performances I’ve seen in Erik ten Hag’s time at Manchester United and that’s saying something.”
On Fernandes, he added: “When players react like that, it means something has gone on that we haven’t seen initially. He’s gone knee high Bruno Fernandes.
“I think he slips just before the tackle but he’s not going to get away with it.”
