Manchester United announce 23-man travelling squad vs Porto

Manchester United take on Porto in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night

Manchester United have named Dan Gore in their 23-man squad for the upcoming Europa League match against FC Porto.

Gore, who recently captained the Under-21s in a match against Hertha Berlin on Tuesday night, played just over an hour in that game before traveling with the first team to Porto.

The 20-year-old made his first-team debut under Erik ten Hag in September last year and has been highly regarded by coaches in the academy.

However, he returned to action only last week after an eight-month injury layoff and is eager to regain his match fitness.

Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire have also been included in the squad after successfully returning from their respective injuries.

Mainoo, who was substituted just before half-time against Tottenham after appearing to tweak his hamstring, is a significant boost for United ahead of the match against Porto.

Although Maguire has recently lost his starting position to Matthijs de Ligt, his inclusion in the squad provides valuable experience and depth for the team in Portugal.

In contrast, Mason Mount has not been included in the squad after sustaining a head injury during the match against Tottenham.

Club sources confirmed that Mount did not suffer a concussion, but he has not been deemed fit enough to travel and will remain in Manchester as the team heads to Porto.

Below is United 23-man squad for Porto clash:

Goalkeepers: Onana, Bayindir, Heaton.

Defenders: De Ligt, Evans, Maguire, Lindelof, Martinez, Dalot, Mazraoui.

Midfielders: Fernandes, Gore, Mainoo, Eriksen, Ugarte, Collyer, Casemiro.

Attackers:
Amad, Garnacho, Hojlund, Antony, Rashford, Zirkzee.
