Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke has been included in Lee Carsley’s England squad for the upcoming Nations League matches against Greece and Finland, according to reports.

This marks Solanke’s first call-up to the Three Lions squad in seven years, following a remarkable start to the 2024/25 campaign.

During his exceptional season at Bournemouth, he scored 21 goals in 42 appearances, ranking among the league’s top scorers, with only Phil Foden, Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer, and Erling Haaland netting more goals than the 27-year-old.

Solanke’s success with the Cherries facilitated his summer move to north London, where he signed with Tottenham until 2030 in a deal worth £65 million.

His opportunity to play for one of the Premier League’s big six clubs has undoubtedly contributed to his long-awaited return to the national team.

Although Lee Carsley is expected to announce the full squad for the Nations League fixtures on Thursday afternoon, The Athletic has reported that Solanke’s name will be included.

Since joining Spurs, Dominic Solanke has made an impressive impact, scoring three goals in consecutive matches and totaling six appearances, including an assist in the Europa League.

If selected to play under Carsley, he will make only his second senior England appearance, with his first coming in a friendly against Brazil in 2017.

Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers, Manchester United’s Harry Maguire, and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen are expected to miss out on spots in the squad.

The Three Lions will host Greece on Thursday, October 10, before travelling to face Finland three days later.
