Arne Slot has made history by becoming just the fourth manager ever to win each of his first four Premier League away games.
Liverpool’s recent 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace solidified their impressive start to the season, ensuring they head into the international break at the top of the table.
The Reds dominated the first half, taking the lead with a goal from Diogo Jota, but they had to endure some late pressure from the Eagles.
Since taking over at Anfield this summer, Slot has overseen victories against Ipswich, Manchester United, Wolves, and now Crystal Palace, as the post-Jurgen Klopp era continues to thrive.
The Dutchman’s impact has been remarkable, with the only blemish on his record being a 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest last month.
Slot has shown a knack for breaking records, quickly appearing at home in his new surroundings on Merseyside.
His success was further highlighted by Wednesday’s Champions League win over Bologna, which marked his eighth victory in his first nine games across all competitions – making him the first Liverpool manager to achieve this feat.
Now, the 46-year-old has joined an elite group of managers who have won their first four away league fixtures.
He joins former Chelsea boss Felipe Scolari, John Gregory, and Bobby Gould, all known for their away-day prowess.
Notably, ex-Aston Villa manager Gregory won his first five away games, while former talkSPORT host Gould secured four victories on the road with Coventry City.
However, Slot still has a long way to go to match Brazilian coach Scolari, who recorded eight consecutive victories at the start of the 2008/09 campaign.
Slot seized the opportunity to succeed Klopp, stepping into what many viewed as an impossible job after the German’s successful eight-year tenure at the club.
While Slot’s side has delivered outstanding performances so far this season, he knows that tougher challenges lie ahead in the coming weeks.
The Reds are set to face Chelsea, Brighton, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Newcastle, and Everton in the Premier League over the next two months.
In addition, Liverpool’s Champions League campaign will see them take on RB Leipzig, Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, and defending champions Real Madrid.
