Full Liverpool squad to face Crystal Palace

Liverpool could be without two players for the Palace clash

Liverpool will make a late decision regarding Federico Chiesa’s availability for Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace.

The forward missed a training session with Arne Slot’s squad on Thursday, raising concerns about his fitness.

Since joining the Reds for £10 million from Juventus in August, the Italy international has featured in just three matches.

His only start occurred during last month’s 5-1 victory over West Ham United in the League Cup.

Chiesa has also missed recent victories against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bologna, and he is now racing against time to prove his fitness ahead of the match at Selhurst Park on Saturday lunchtime.

Asked about Chiesa’s availability on Friday, Slot said: “Wait and see, he didn’t train for the last two days.

“He came in today to see if he could train.

“And if he can, I still have a decision to make because we can only select 20 and he hasn’t trained for a few days.

“But first of all, we have to wait and see if he can even train.

“And if he can, it’s my decision if we bring him to the game or not.”

Harvey Elliott will continue to be a long-term absentee for the Premier League leaders, while Diogo Jota is set to make his 100th start against Crystal Palace.

“A difficult one for us: 12.30 kick-off after playing on Wednesday evening late in the Champions League, facing again a team that has a whole week to prepare,” added Slot.

“But that is part of working at a top club, that we face those teams and we have to be ready for those teams.

“And that’s what we are tomorrow.”
