Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided an optimistic update on Levi Colwill and Noni Madueke after both players appeared to pick up knocks following the hard-fought draw against Nottingham Forest.
In a heated contest, Nottingham Forest took the lead through Chris Wood.
But Chelsea responded just eight minutes later, courtesy of a goal from Madueke, ensuring the match ended 1-1.
Levi Colwill showed signs of discomfort during the game, seemingly indicating a thigh issue, and was eventually substituted for Tosin Aderabioyo.
Meanwhile, Madueke was spotted limping after the final whistle, raising concerns over his fitness.
When asked about the condition of the two players, Maresca reassured fans: “I think both are ok now that we are inside.
“We will see but I don’t think any problems with them.”
Maresca was asked about his interaction with the fans after he was seen urging them to get behind the team.
The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge has often been criticized by some match-going supporters, but the Chelsea manager praised the fans, stating they had been great throughout the match.
He explained that in that particular moment, he felt the team needed a bit more support from the stands.
He told LondonWorld: “The fans today were unbelievable.
“I felt in that moment we needed a little bit more and the fans today have been and today has been top.
“The reason why we won one game at home, as I said many times before I prefer to analyse the game.”
Chelsea will suffer a major blow as both Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana are set to miss the upcoming game against Liverpool after the international break.
However, there is some positive news for the Blues, as Levi Colwill and Noni Madueke have been declared fit, providing a significant boost to the team’s preparations.
