Paul Pogba expected to leave Juventus
Pogba can train in January and play again in March after the Court of Arbitration of Sport announced his ban has been cut
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Juventus and Paul Pogba are nearing an agreement on the terms for terminating his contract.
Talks between the Italian club and Pogba are scheduled to resume on Monday following the confirmation of the verdict from the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
CAS are expected to officially announce its decision to reduce the former World Cup winner’s ban from four years to 18 months.
This decision comes after Pogba was found guilty in February of testing positive for a banned substance following a match against Udinese in August 2023.
The midfielder is anticipated to return to football in January 2025 and will be allowed to train with Juventus.
However, despite the success of Pogba’s appeal, reports suggest that his comeback will not be with the Italian side, as both the player and the club are seeking a fresh start.
Pogba is expected to have offers from clubs in Europe, USA and Saudi Arabi.
The 31-year-old has had two notable spells at Manchester United.
He returned to the club in 2016 for a then-record fee of £89 million after leaving for Juventus on a free transfer four years earlier.
However, he struggled to replicate his international success with France at United, winning only the Europa League and Carabao Cup during his time there.
In contrast, Pogba has enjoyed greater success at Juventus.
He was part of the team that secured four consecutive Serie A titles from 2012 to 2016 and earned the Golden Boy award in 2013 for his outstanding performances.
His return to the Allianz Stadium in 2022 aimed to revitalize his career, but injuries hindered his progress, culminating in a failed drug test that came to light in September 2023.
