Jhon Duran signs new Aston Villa contract until 2030
The 20-year-old has been in sparkling form at the start of this season, scoring six times already
Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has extended his contract at Villa Park, keeping him at the club until 2030.
The 20-year-old Colombian originally joined Villa in January 2023 from Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire for a fee of £18 million, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal that was set to run until 2028.
Duran was the subject of interest from Chelsea and West Ham during the summer transfer window, but he ultimately chose to stay with Villa.
So far this season, he has made a significant impact, scoring six goals, including a crucial strike in last week’s 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
His contributions have been vital, with winning goals against West Ham, Leicester, and Everton in the Premier League.
Duran was the second signing made by manager Unai Emery after his appointment in October 2022.
Since joining the club, he has netted a total of 14 goals in 56 appearances, along with one goal in 12 caps for the Colombian national team.
