Anderlecht in talks with Tottenham’s Ryan Mason over vacant manager’s role
Mason has held a variety of positions at Spurs, including two spells as interim manager
Tottenham’s first-team coach Ryan Mason is in discussions with Anderlecht regarding his first permanent managerial position, according to the Guardian.
Since returning to Spurs in 2018, Mason has taken on various roles, including two spells as interim manager.
The former England midfielder was forced to retire at 26 due to a skull fracture sustained during a match between Hull City and Chelsea in 2017.
Mason began his coaching career at Tottenham shortly after his retirement. He was appointed to lead the first team in April 2021 following the departure of José Mourinho, overseeing Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
Antonio Conte later included Mason in his coaching staff, and the 33-year-old had another interim spell in charge towards the end of the 2022-23 season.
After working with the current Tottenham manager, Ange Postecoglou, for the past 16 months, Ryan Mason is now in talks with Anderlecht about their vacant head coach position, potentially marking the beginning of his managerial career.
