Harvey Elliott has given a promising update on his recovery after missing Liverpool’s last seven matches in all competitions.
The 21-year-old has been sidelined since September after suffering a foot fracture while on international duty with England’s Under-21s.
Elliott is aiming to return to action after the October international break, with Liverpool set to host Chelsea at Anfield on October 20.
On Wednesday, Elliott shared a hopeful update via Instagram, posting a story from the Reds’ Kirkby training base, accompanied by several hourglass emojis, suggesting his recovery is progressing on schedule.
It’s been a challenging start to the season for Harvey Elliott.
Despite impressing during Liverpool’s summer tour of the United States, he was unable to secure a place in Arne Slot’s starting XI in the early weeks of the campaign.
His only appearance this season came as a late substitute in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Brentford at Anfield on August 25, where goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah helped maintain the Reds’ strong start to the season.
Following the international break, Liverpool have a busy schedule with crucial fixtures against Chelsea, RB Leipzig, and Arsenal, followed by matches against Brighton & Hove Albion in both the Premier League and the League Cup, and a Champions League clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
