Marc Cucurella has showered praise on his Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer but noted that there is one issue he cannot resolve.

Palmer has been in sensational form this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists in just seven Premier League matches.

Notably, he made history by netting four times in a single half against Brighton.

Cucurella described Palmer as a “special” talent, although he humorously remarked that he doesn’t quite look like a typical footballer due to his hairstyle.

The left-back also referred to the Euro 2024 final, where he quipped that the England star nearly “messed it up for us” by scoring England’s equalizer in their eventual 2-1 defeat.

Marc Cucurella said: “If you see him not in his kit you would never in your life say he was a footballer, but then on the pitch … he shoots and it doesn’t seem like he is hitting it hard but he scores them all.

“He’s very different.

“I don’t know how to explain it: he’s special.

“We’re very lucky we have him.

“We’re lucky he didn’t play much in the Euros either because he came on and almost messed it up for us [scoring in the final].

“If he carries on like this, he’ll be among the best.

“There’s not much strength in the hair, but if that’s his only problem, then he’s all right.”

After the international break, Chelsea will face Liverpool at Anfield.

However, Cucurella will be suspended due to accumulating five yellow cards in the league this season.

Wesley Fofana will also miss the Premier League showdown after picking up booking in their 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

With both in the lineup, Chelsea have suffered only one defeat and conceded just eight goals in seven games so far this season.
