Erik ten Hag returns to Man United’s training ground ahead of Brentford tie
The Dutchman was under intense pressure heading into the international break.
Manager Erik ten Hag was back at Manchester United’s training ground on Monday as the team prepares for Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Brentford at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman faced mounting pressure before the international break. Despite a 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham followed by away draws against FC Porto and Aston Villa, speculation about his future continued to swirl.
United’s board held a monthly meeting last Tuesday in central London, with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe in attendance.
The meeting lasted about six hours, though no official details were disclosed regarding the discussions.
Club officials are reportedly dissatisfied with United’s current 14th place in the league table, and Erik Ten Hag is under scrutiny to reverse the team’s poor form.
Asked about his future prior to the international, Ten Hag said: “No, I am not thinking about this.
“We all made together this decision to stay together, as an ownership, a leadership group in the summer, also we made the decision from a clear review what we have to improve and how we want to construct a squad.
“But we knew it will take some time, how the window went, some players late in like Ugarte.
“Also, we have to make some improvement in organisation, some injuries, we need some time.
“We are all on one page or in one boat together, the ownership, the staff and the players as well.
“I don’t have that concern.”
The Red Devils have now gone five games without a win.
After facing Brentford, United will travel to Istanbul for a Europa League match against Fenerbahce, managed by former United boss José Mourinho, followed by a league trip to West Ham.
