Liverpool have officially secured the future of Trey Nyoni after the talented midfielder signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 17-year-old joined the Reds from Leicester City in September 2023 and has quickly made his mark.
Nyoni initially joined Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s U18 side, where he made an immediate impact by scoring a late winner in a youth Merseyside derby on his home debut.
His performances soon earned him a promotion to the U21s, where he continued to shine.
At just 16, the England U18 international made his senior Liverpool debut, coming on as a substitute in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup, helping the Reds to a victory over Southampton at Anfield in February 2024.
Trey Nyoni was also part of Arne Slot’s first-team squad during the club’s pre-season tour of the USA, where he found the net in a friendly against Sevilla at Anfield.
His leadership qualities have since been recognized, as he captained the Reds’ U19s in their UEFA Youth League match against AC Milan. Nyoni is now a regular feature for Barry Lewtas’ U21 side.
Most recently, Nyoni was named on the bench for Liverpool’s Champions League win over Bologna earlier this month, further highlighting his growing importance within the squad.
