Liverpool are expected to be without Diogo Jota for their upcoming Champions League match in Germany against RB Leipzig, as the Portuguese forward missed the open training session at the AXA Training Centre.
The Reds will fly out to Germany immediately after the session, with the match set to take place on Wednesday night.
Jota was forced off after a collision with Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over the London club on Sunday.
Speaking after the game, Slot said: “Diogo had to be substituted and I am not sure what it is, but I’d be surprised if he is there on Wednesday.”
“I have a lot of confidence in this team, but you also saw today – after the international break – that we have some problems,” he added.
“Conor Bradley is not in; Trent you probably don’t know, was also not training in the first days after he came back, so he was a bit of a doubt before we started the game [and] then we had Macca being sick.”
His replacement, Darwin Nunez, impressed in that game and is now expected to start against RB Leipzig.
Another forward, Federico Chiesa, remains unavailable, having already missed wins over Bologna and Crystal Palace before the international break, as well as the Chelsea match.
There was no sign of Chiesa in today’s training session.
In other injury news, Conor Bradley is sidelined with a problem that will keep him out for several weeks, while Harvey Elliott continues his recovery from the broken foot he sustained in September.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker also remains a long-term absentee due to a hamstring injury.
Manager Arne Slot had earlier expressed concerns about Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alexis Mac Allister following the Chelsea match, but both players took part in today’s training session.
Slot is expected to provide a full squad update during his pre-match press conference at 7:30 PM (UK time) on Tuesday evening.
