AC Milan eye deadline day move for Chelsea’s Joao Felix

AC Milan are working on a last-minute move for Chelsea attacker Joao Felix as the deadline day approaches.

The Portuguese forward, who joined from Atletico Madrid last summer for an initial £42million plus £4.3million in add-ons, has made just three Premier League starts this season.

Milan are keen to secure Felix on loan but are not willing to meet Chelsea’s demands for a significant loan fee until the end of the campaign.

Felix’s super-agent, Jorge Mendes, is working to finalize the deal, though Chelsea remains undecided on whether they will allow the 25-year-old to leave Stamford Bridge.

Further discussions are expected in the coming hours. Chelsea have also received interest from other clubs this month regarding Felix.

The Blues have one remaining international loan spot in their quota, meaning a late move is still possible if the two clubs can reach an agreement.

Meanwhile, Argentine centre-back Aaron Anselmino, who recently joined from Boca Juniors, has attracted strong loan interest from European clubs.

Marseille were initially in pole position to secure the 19-year-old, despite competition from Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta.

However, Chelsea are blocking Anselmino’s potential move to France, and unless circumstances change, the transfer won’t go ahead.

Aston Villa also expressed interest in Felix, with manager Unai Emery having courted the former Barcelona loanee for three consecutive transfer windows.

However, Villa were unwilling to meet Chelsea’s financial demands.

It is understood that Chelsea would have been open to selling Joao Felix to Villa if they had received a package close to the £42million they paid Atletico Madrid last August.

As for Christopher Nkunku, the French forward looks set to remain at Chelsea despite interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

Nkunku was not keen on leaving on a straight loan but would have considered permanent offers, including those involving an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

Chelsea are still exploring the possibility of signing a midfielder on deadline day, with interest in Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly, although their initial approach was rejected.
