Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus has openly expressed his desire to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah this summer, stating that the Egyptian forward would be a perfect fit for his team.
Salah is widely expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season on a free transfer after failing to agree on a new contract.
The 32-year-old has repeatedly hinted that this will be his final campaign with Liverpool, admitting he is “more out than in.”
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Salah is enjoying one of his best seasons in a Liverpool shirt, having scored 26 goals and provided 18 assists – playing a key role in the club’s push for the Premier League title.
With a move to the Saudi Pro League heavily speculated, Jesus has now added to the speculation by openly admitting he would like Salah in his star-studded squad.
Al-Hilal is in search of a marquee signing to replace Neymar, who recently rejoined his boyhood club, Santos.
Speaking in an interview with Canal11, Jorge Jesus said: “I would like to have Salah at Al-Hilal, he has a way of playing that fits the team.”
This isn’t the first time Jesus has discussed a potential move for Salah, having previously acknowledged that the player could join in the summer rather than January.
He said: “Mo Salah or other big players will not join this winter, but maybe for next season.”
In January, Salah stated that his team was ‘far away from any progress’ in contract negotiations with Liverpool.
When asked whether this could be his final season at the club, he responded: “So far, yes. It’s the last six months.
“There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress.
“So, we just need to wait and see.”
