Andoni Iraola is confident Florian Wirtz has not suffered a serious injury after being forced off during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
The midfielder picked up an ankle knock following a challenge and was replaced by Trey Nyoni after 65 minutes at Anfield.
Florian Wirtz will undergo further assessment by Liverpool’s medical team, but early indications suggest the injury is not serious.
“Unfortunately, he had to leave the pitch with a small twist of the ankle,” said head coach Iraola post-match.
“It doesn’t look very big but we are playing every three days so we need to see where he is.”
