Arne Slot could still be in the Liverpool dugout for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Wolves, despite his red card in the Merseyside derby.
The Football Association is set to review referee Michael Oliver’s report before deciding whether to take no further action, issue a reminder to the Reds boss about his responsibilities, or charge him.
Slot was dismissed along with assistant Sipke Hulshoff after the final whistle of the 2-2 draw with Everton. The pair were adamant that James Tarkowski’s injury-time equalizer should have been ruled out for a push in the build-up.
Earlier, the Premier League had published a statement on its website stating that Slot would serve a two-match touchline ban following his red card, but this was later deleted.
The FA has up to three working days to make a decision, meaning an announcement may not come before Sunday’s match against Wolves at Anfield.
Slot previously served a touchline ban during the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Southampton in December after accumulating three yellow cards.
However, those cautions are unlikely to have an immediate impact on the 46-year-old’s situation ahead of the Wolves clash.
They could, however, be considered as aggravating factors if Slot is charged and decides to attend a hearing.
