Arne Slot has confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong will miss Liverpool’s Premier League trip to Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Frimpong has been sidelined with a muscle injury since coming off in last month’s Champions League clash against Qarabag at Anfield.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s 2pm GMT kick-off at the City Ground, Slot said the game comes too soon for him.
“Jeremie will not be involved this weekend yet,” the head coach told his pre-match press conference. “We hope he will be involved next week [against West Ham] if things go as planned.”
Asked about the latest on Wataru Endo, he added: “No, Wata will be out for a long time, as I said earlier. We don’t know exactly how long – but long.”
On whether Joe Gomez is now ready to start after appearing as a substitute, Slot concluded: “Yeah, I think he is.”
