Aston Villa have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 26-year-old has struggled for game time under new Blues manager Enzo Maresca and had been keen on a move away in search of regular football.
Late last month, Axel Disasi agreed personal terms with Villa as he looked to secure a temporary switch to Unai Emery’s side.
However, Chelsea initially blocked the move, reluctant to strengthen a direct rival in the race for a Premier League top-four finish.
Instead, Chelsea accepted a loan bid from Tottenham Hotspur, but Disasi rejected the opportunity to join the struggling North London side.
Spurs made further attempts to convince him on deadline day, but Villa eventually succeeded in striking a deal with Chelsea, as reported by Matt Law.
Villa will pay a loan fee of around £5million for Disasi, who joins a growing list of Chelsea players sealing late loan exits.
Carney Chukwuemeka has moved to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season, while Joao Felix is set to join AC Milan.
Meanwhile, Ben Chilwell is close to securing a temporary switch to Crystal Palace, and young striker Deivid Washington is expected to return to Santos.
