Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez turned down January transfer approaches from both Aston Villa and Manchester United, according to a report from Spain.
The 21-year-old has emerged as a key squad player under Barça boss Hansi Flick, capping off January with a standout performance in a 7-1 victory over Valencia, where he scored twice and provided two assists.
His impressive form has reportedly attracted interest from several top clubs, with Villa and United both willing to pay €70million (£58.3m) to secure his signature, per SPORT.
Despite the offers, Fermin Lopez rejected the proposals, making it clear that his sole focus remains on establishing himself at Barcelona.
The Catalan club demonstrated their faith in the young midfielder by handing him a new five-year contract in October 2024, which includes a €500million (£416.5m) release clause.
As a result, Barca are under no pressure to entertain offers for him.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are preparing for a major squad overhaul in the summer transfer window after opting against heavy spending in January.
However, questions remain over their ability to finance big-money deals, as they are expected to rely on player departures to fund new signings – raising doubts about whether a move for Fermin will be financially feasible.
