Giorgi Mamardashvili transfer message sent to Liverpool

Giorgi Mamardashvili has been linked with a move to Liverpool

Valencia manager Ruben Baraja has emphasized that goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili remains focused on his current role with the La Liga side despite ongoing transfer speculation linking him to Liverpool.

Liverpool have reportedly identified the Georgia international as their preferred long-term successor to Alisson Becker.

The plan involves pursuing Giorgi Mamardashvili in a deal that would initially see him join another club on loan until Alisson’s departure.

Bournemouth have emerged as a potential destination for Giorgi Mamardashvili if the move to Liverpool materializes.

However, Premier League regulations prohibit sending new signings on loan to other clubs within the same division.

This would necessitate separate negotiations for a loan deal with Bournemouth and a future transfer to Liverpool.

The complexity of the transfer process has led to slow developments behind the scenes, and Baraja has stated that he is concentrating on maintaining Mamardashvili’s focus amid the swirling rumors.

“It’s very simple. He’s our player, and as long as there is no other different situation, I’m not going to evaluate anything,” he said.

“He’s here, he’s ready to participate. We can’t talk about situations that haven’t happened yet.”

Liverpool are still awaiting their first signing of the summer transfer window after having a bid for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi rejected.

Ahead of Real Sociedad’s La Liga opener against Rayo Vallecano, Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil delivered an emotional message to Zubimendi.

“He is the best signing of the summer,” Alguacil said of Zubimendi.

“We knew that, after the year he had, teams were going to come for him.

“Liverpool are a historic, very big team and, seeing all the money they wanted to put on the table, you have to value what it means for Martin to say ‘no’ and stay here.”
