Ibrahima Konate says he expects to announce a decision on his future “very soon” as he dismissed fresh claims that Liverpool have made him another contract offer.

The France international is out of contract at the end of the season.

Ibrahima Konate first revealed in January that Liverpool had presented him with a new deal, though he made it clear at the time that he was not close to agreeing an extension.

After lifting the Premier League trophy in May, he took to social media to label rumours surrounding his contract situation as “completely fake”, while confirming that his agent had held renewed talks with the club the week prior.

Six months on, however, the 26-year-old is still yet to commit to new terms.

With interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain continuing to circulate, the defender will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1.

Despite the ongoing uncertainty, Konate insists discussions are progressing and remains hopeful his future will be settled soon, once again dismissing recent speculation regarding negotiations with Liverpool.

“I’ve seen a lot of things in the press recently, like Liverpool have made me a new offer,” he said. “I don’t know where that’s coming from.

“My agents are continuing discussions with Liverpool. I hope my decision will be made very soon so I can announce it.”
