Liverpool defender Amara Nallo has completed a season-long loan move to Finnish side HJK Helsinki.
The 19-year-old will continue his development in the Veikkausliiga after finalising the temporary switch.
Nallo joined Liverpool’s academy from West Ham United in September 2023 and has made three senior appearances for the Reds, including two in the Champions League and one in the Carabao Cup.
He also featured regularly for the club’s U21 side, trained with the first team and made his senior debut in the Champions League in January 2025.
HJK, who face Turun Palloseura on Sunday, are currently competing in the Veikkausliiga and the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League.
A composed centre-back, Amara Nallo is known for his calmness in possession, strong one-on-one defending and leadership qualities.
He has captained Liverpool’s UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2 sides and has represented England at youth international level.
“The intensity in training was really high. It’s great to play with quality players. The level of demands is high. I really like it,” Nallo says about his experiences after the first training sessions.
“HJK is the biggest club in Finland, so of course I’m excited. I came here to win, I want to win as many games as possible and play as much as I can. Hopefully we can play for the championship and win the cup.”
