Real Madrid forward Endrick was a high-profile target for Liverpool during the summer transfer window, and his current situation could see the Reds revisit a potential deal.
Liverpool were widely believed to be short of a forward after the summer window, despite signing Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz without directly replacing Mo Salah.
Andoni Iraola currently has Barcola, Munoz, Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha as his wide options, while Alexander Isak is supported by Lewis Koumas and Federico Chiesa up front.
With Hugo Ekitike still recovering and Jayden Danns hoping to break through, Liverpool are expected to strengthen their attack in the near future.
That could put Endrick back on their radar, with transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano discussing the Brazilian’s situation on YouTube.
“In the summer, Endrick had three main possibilities,” Romano said.
“One was a loan to Aston Villa, another one was a loan to Roma, another one was a loan to Milan. Then there was also interest from Liverpool.
“Liverpool were keen on Endrick, but that’s it, they never presented any sort of proposal.
“So these three clubs were very aggressive; Liverpool were thinking of Endrick – even to buy him at some point.
“But Real Madrid closed doors to loan and permanent transfer approaches. For Real Madrid, it was not possible to touch the player.
“And when I say Real Madrid, it’s Florentino Perez, people in the management and Jose Mourinho himself. Altogether, Endrick, his agents and Real Madrid decided to continue.”
Endrick can play as a central striker or on the right wing and returned from a loan spell at Lyon after scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in 21 appearances.
However, the 20-year-old has struggled for game time since returning to Real Madrid. Following an injury,
Endrick has played just four minutes this season, making one appearance while remaining an unused substitute in three other matches.
