Liverpool are preparing to make an opening bid for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, according to talkSPORT.
Preliminary talks have taken place, although reports claiming Barcola has already agreed personal terms are considered premature.
Liverpool explored a move for the France international in 2025, when PSG valued him at around €85million (£73m). A year later, PSG’s asking price has doubled to €170million (£145m).
Club sources believe Barcola’s value is justified after helping PSG win back-to-back Champions League titles, arguing he should command a higher fee than Elliot Anderson (£116m) and Morgan Rogers (£117m).
Liverpool, however, are expected to open with a bid of around £80m, pointing to the fact Barcola has just two years remaining on his contract and is not expected to sign an extension.
The Reds previously submitted a similar offer for Yan Diomande before the winger’s proposed move to Real Madrid, with a package worth £68m plus £17m in add-ons.
While Bradley Barcola is Liverpool’s preferred target, the club have no intention of overpaying despite the inflated transfer market.
They also retain confidence in Rio Ngumoha, while Vitor Munoz has already arrived from Osasuna. Cody Gakpo is expected to stay unless a significant offer is received.
Bradley Barcola scored 13 goals across Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season before registering three goals and one assist in eight appearances for France at the World Cup.
Liverpool are also monitoring alternative targets, including FC Koln forward Said El Mala and Lille winger Matias Fernandez-Pardo. Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh has been discussed internally, although talks are not active.
Bournemouth’s Rayan remains a dream target, but the Brazilian’s release clause of more than €100million (£85m) does not become active until 2027.
Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, meanwhile, is not believed to be on Liverpool’s shortlist.
