Liverpool are set to hold talks with Ifeanyi Ndukwe’s representatives over a potential return to Anfield in January, according to reports from Austria.

The 18-year-old joined Liverpool from Austria Wien earlier this year before moving to Spanish side Levante on loan towards the end of the summer transfer window.

Despite impressing during pre-season, work permit complications prevented him from featuring for the Reds at the start of the 2026/27 campaign. However, he has since met the requirements to obtain a permit.

According to Sky Sports Austria, representatives from Ndukwe’s agency, More than Sport by AS1, will meet Liverpool officials this weekend to discuss his future, including whether he should return to Anfield in January or remain in Spain for the rest of the season.

Liverpool have retained the option to recall the defender, but any decision will depend on his prospects of securing regular playing time.

Ndukwe has started Levante’s last three La Liga matches, helping Luis Castro’s side record a win and two draws. He also scored in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Sevilla.

His recent performances have earned praise in the Spanish press, with one outlet predicting he could become “one of the world’s top centre-backs”.
