Liverpool are not close to agreeing on contract extensions with Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, or Virgil van Dijk, according to Football Insider.
None of the three stars were expected to leave Anfield in January.
However, as things stand, the situation remains uncertain.
All three players have been allowed to discuss pre-contract agreements to move abroad since January.
Liverpool remain hopeful that they can secure new contracts for the trio rather than lose them for free at the end of the season.
There is a “major concern” at Anfield about the potential impact of losing all three, with the cost of adequately replacing them a significant financial worry.
Salah, 32, has been heavily linked with a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League, while 33-year-old Van Dijk’s future is more uncertain, with little speculation about potential suitors.
Alexander-Arnold, 26, is considered the most likely to leave, especially given Real Madrid’s efforts to lure him to Spain.
The announcement of new contracts for Salah, Alexander-Arnold, and Van Dijk would give a boost to Liverpool’s ambitions to win both the Premier League and the Champions League.
However, no progress has been made toward any agreements, and it is expected that decisions will not be reached until later in the season.
There is growing concern, however, that the longer negotiations remain unresolved, the more likely it is that all three players could leave the club.
Alexander-Arnold has been the subject of intense speculation regarding his future since before the January window, with a move to Real Madrid seeming increasingly likely.
As it stands, Alexander-Arnold is said to be leaning towards a move to Los Blancos, as players often find it difficult to turn down the Spanish giants.
Nevertheless, a successful Premier League and Champions League campaign with Liverpool could be enough to convince him to commit his future to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
