Luis Diaz believes the responsibility lies with Liverpool to offer him a new contract amid ongoing speculation over his future.
The Reds recently rejected a formal approach from Barcelona, who have finally made concrete their long-standing interest in the Colombian winger.
In addition to Barcelona, clubs from the Saudi Pro League have also been monitoring the 28-year-old, with Al-Nassr reportedly considering a summer move for Diaz.
The winger has two years remaining on his current contract, but talks with Liverpool over a new deal have yet to make significant progress.
While Diaz revealed that his representatives have been contacted by several potential suitors, he insists he is happy either to see out the remainder of his contract at Anfield or to sign a new agreement.
Speaking on Thursday at a news conference ahead of Colombia’s World Cup qualifier at home to Peru, Diaz said: “We’re talking to clubs, it’s normal in the market and we’re looking at what’s best for us.
“If they (Liverpool) give us a good renewal or I stay there for two years, I’ll be happy. Now it’s up to them.”
Since arriving from Porto in January 2022, Diaz has been a regular starter when available, scoring 41 goals in 148 appearances.
He became a key player under new head coach Arne Slot this season, featuring both on the left flank and as a central attacker, helping Liverpool secure the Premier League title.
