Mohamed Salah named Liverpool’s Men’s Player of the Month for August

Mohamed Salah has been awarded Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month for August, following an outstanding start to the 2024-25 season.

The Egyptian star claimed the honor after narrowly edging out Ryan Gravenberch and Luis Diaz in a fan poll on Liverpoolfc.com.

Salah was instrumental for the Reds in their first three Premier League matches, contributing three goals and three assists before the September international break.

His season began with a pivotal performance in the 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town, where he set up Diogo Jota’s goal before scoring one himself.

He followed up with the decisive goal in Liverpool’s win against Brentford, and later delivered two assists for Luis Diaz in the Reds’ dominant away win at Manchester United.

Salah also added to his impressive goal tally against Liverpool’s fierce rivals in that same match, further solidifying his reputation as one of the club’s most reliable performers.

Collecting the trophy at the AXA Training Centre on Thursday, Mohamed Salah said: “Winning big games and starting the season well, that’s the most important thing for us.

“I’m always happy to help the team to win the games.

“It’s something special when you win it, especially voted [for] by fans.

“It’s something appreciated a lot and hopefully we keep going like this.”

He continued: “We play very good football and everybody is fighting to win the games.

“We just need to carry on like that.

“It’s still the beginning of the season, so it’s still too early.

“We just try to play our football, the football that we’re playing at the moment, we enjoy our game.

“If we fight and we give everything, that’s the most important thing.”
