Mohamed Salah is expected to play again for Liverpool after scans confirmed his hamstring injury is not serious.

There were fears the Egyptian had played his final game for the club after limping off during the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, but tests have ruled out a tear, with the 33-year-old suffering only a minor muscle issue.

A club statement read: “Liverpool FC can confirm Mohamed Salah is expected to be available to play again before the end of this season.

“The No.11 was substituted during the second half of last Saturday’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace at Anfield.

“The issue that caused his withdrawal has now been confirmed as a minor muscle injury.

“It is, however, anticipated Salah will return to action ahead of 2025-26’s conclusion and his departure from the Reds this summer.”

Mohamed Salah will miss Sunday’s clash at Manchester United and is also doubtful for the visit of Chelsea, as Arne Slot’s side push to secure Champions League qualification.

Liverpool won this fixture 3-0 last season, and victory on Sunday would see Arne Slot become the first boss in club history to win his first two away league games against Manchester United.

The Reds have won three of their last five league visits to Old Trafford—as many as in their previous 18.

They have also lost just once in their last seven Premier League games at United’s home, with that defeat coming in August 2022.

Liverpool then travel to Aston Villa, with Salah likely to return before the end of the season, potentially for the final game against Brentford.

The news is also a boost for Egypt, with Salah set to captain his country at the upcoming World Cup.
