Bradley Barcola remains Liverpool’s leading winger target this summer, but Paris Saint-Germain would reportedly demand a record-breaking fee to consider a sale.
With Yan Diomande expected to join PSG instead of Liverpool, attention at Anfield has shifted to Barcola.
Although primarily a left winger, the 23-year-old is viewed as an elite attacking talent capable of playing across the front line and a potential long-term successor to Mohamed Salah.
According to L’Equipe, PSG would seek around €150million (£127.8m) for Bradley Barcola.
While the French champions insist the winger is “not for sale”, a move later in the transfer window has not been completely ruled out, with talks expected after the Club World Cup.
The report adds that only Premier League clubs are realistically capable of meeting PSG’s valuation, with Arsenal and Liverpool identified as the strongest contenders.
Should Liverpool agree to the asking price, they would surpass their current transfer record, set by the £125million signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
While Barcola is regarded as one of the best wingers available this summer, there are doubts over whether he can immediately replace Salah’s goals and influence.
Liverpool may instead consider spreading their budget across multiple signings, with Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh emerging as a more affordable alternative while also allowing funds to strengthen midfield.
With Diomande’s expected move to PSG likely to drag on, any potential deal for Barcola could also be delayed until later in the transfer window.
That could either encourage PSG to lower their asking price if the player pushes for a move or force Liverpool to pursue other targets.
